Corporate Management Consultants is working for a team of investors who are looking at purchasing the Canwest Newspaper assets put on the auction block January 8 2010. Lead consultant Mr G. S Rekve has stated that the investors has the required funds to purchase the Saskatoon StarPhoenix, The Regina Leader Post, The Victoria Times Colonist newspapers.
Other newspapers under review are also being considered to be added to the purchase. While there has been no actual close to this aggreement, Mr Rekve states that there will be major changes to the operations of all three newspapers. Rekve stated the all departments will see siginficant job cuts required to meet the operating in current economic times. Frontline staff will see little changes except for management, where there will be complete changes to the lead teams of all newspapers.
